White Spruce-moss

Found on well-drained sites with medium moisture and medium nutrients. A climax community produced from the succession of Aspen dominated plant communities to Aspen – White Spruce Mixedwoods, eventually progressing to a White Spruce-moss in the absence of disturbance. Usually found in the mid to lower slope landscape positions and on moderately fine to fine textured soils and parent materials (silts and clays).
